Urban parish · Cuenca, Ecuador

Bellavista

Bellavista is one of Cuenca's northern urban parishes, a broad city-edge territory whose official story is more about neighbourhood growth, streets and public infrastructure than a single visitor landmark. The name is shared by rural parishes elsewhere in Ecuador, so Cuenca's municipal urban ordinance is the anchor for this profile.

A northern urban territory

The municipal ordinance sets Bellavista between the northern urban limit, Avenida Miraflores, the Circunvalación and the historic streets toward Vega Muñoz. The current PDOT map lists Bellavista among the fifteen urban parishes and distinguishes it from the rural jurisdictions around the canton, a useful safeguard against search results for Bellavista in Espíndola, Paquisha or El Oro. 1 2

Neighbourhood works and public space

The Municipality's 2026 parish assembly report names the reconstruction of the Mutualista Azuay 1 community house, the El Cebollar platform, alarms for Nueva Generación and work at Parque Pampas de El Cebollar among Bellavista priorities. A University of Cuenca parks inventory counts sixteen neighbourhood parks in Bellavista, so the parish can be read through community-scale public space as well as its arterial roads. 3 4
